We know it’s important to get your treatment fast. Here’s what you can expect.
In order for us to confirm your request and add it to our queue, we need to…
- Verify you’ve downloaded Spruce. This is the app you use to communicate with your provider. Here’s how to download. You will get access to Spruce as a Hey Jane patient.
- Collect all required medical information. Most information is collected during your intake but a team member may reach out for more info after you’ve paid. Please keep an eye on Spruce and respond quickly to avoid delays.
Once we’ve confirmed your request, a provider will review your information within 1 business day (weekends and holidays excluded). If you’re approved for treatment, your prescription will be ordered for mail delivery.
Your treatment will be mailed directly to your address via the shipping option you've selected. For Standard Shipping, we use Fedex Priority which should arrive in 3-5 business days. For Next Day Shipping, we use FedEx Express which should arrive in 1-2 business days.
For patients with PO box shipping addresses, our pharmacy partner will mail using USPS options.
Business days are M-F. Saturday and Sunday are not business days. In other words, medications are not prescribed and packages are not shipped on Saturday or Sunday. Occasionally, further delays may come into play.
Depending on the service you receive, we offer delivery and/or local pharmacy pick up:
If getting your prescription delivered, we will confirm how your prescriptions will be delivered by message in your patient portal, including how to access your tracking information.
If picking up your prescription from a local pharmacy, they will dispense the medication and reach out to you when it is ready.
Treatment from Hey Jane arrives in a plain white envelope to protect your privacy. There is no Hey Jane branding on the outside of the envelope or in the return address to ensure it isn’t obvious who the sender is.

Once your prescription has been submitted (within 1 business day after your intake is complete), you’ll receive an email with tracking information as indicated in your patient portal.
Our free standard shipping option—via USPS Priority Mail—can deliver to PO boxes. Next-day shipping, however, does not deliver to PO boxes at this time.

Absolutely. We can ship treatment to a secure FedEx pickup location near you or a trusted friend or family member’s home. If you’re living at a shelter, we can ship there too.
During treatment, it’s important that you feel safe and as comfortable as possible. We recommend you take the second medication, misoprostol, when you have access to a bathroom as you will experience bleeding and cramping for several hours. If you need financial support to pay for treatment or a hotel to take treatment in, our abortion fund partners can help.
Nope! Treatment comes in a discreet white envelope with no mentions of Hey Jane or abortion on the outside to protect your privacy. We can ship to all kinds of secure locations, including:
- A trusted friend or family member’s home
- Hotels
- PO boxes
- FedEx Hold for Pickup locations (find your closest option here)
- Shelters
- Virtual mailboxes
If paying with Illinois Medicaid, treatment will be picked up from a local pharmacy in most cases. We do not offer pharmacy pickup if you are paying with private insurance plans or out-of-pocket.
Your shipment comes in a discreet, unmarked envelope to maintain your privacy and includes:
- Abortion pills (mifepristone and misoprostol)
- Anti-nausea medicine (ondansetron),
- Pain medicine (ibuprofen or Tylenol)
- Illustrated treatment guide with detailed instructions
Contraception shipping and pick up
Hey Jane only offers delivery for select birth control pills for self-pay patients. Instead, your provider will send your prescription to your preferred local pharmacy for pickup.
Some pharmacies have their own delivery services, so we recommend giving yours a call if you’re curious!
Infection treatment shipping and pick up
At this time, Hey Jane does not offer delivery bacterial vaginosis treatment. Your provider will send your prescription to your preferred local pharmacy to be filled ASAP. Some pharmacies have their own delivery services, so we recommend giving yours a call if you’re curious!
At this time, Hey Jane does not offer delivery for UTI treatment. Your provider will send your prescription to your preferred local pharmacy to be filled ASAP. Some pharmacies have their own delivery services, so we recommend giving yours a call if you’re curious!
At this time, Hey Jane only offers delivery for herpes treatment to patients not using insurance.
