I struggle with pcos, after being told by my gyno that the likelihood of becoming pregnant was very low and I’d probably need “help” conceiving one day when ready… I found myself unexpectedly pregnant 2 months later. The timing couldn’t have been worse. Once I calmed down and did my research I found Hey Jane. I was terrified, but knew that a medical abortion was the best choice for me at this time. I never felt alone during this process. I had all of the resources I needed. A file with easy to follow instructions, ibuprofen and Zofran. Shipping was fast, the staff was so responsive through the portal. I had questions answered promptly by nurses, NPs, and patient advocates. I was checked on often- before, during , and over 4 weeks after. Could not recommend enough.

First, I greatly appreciated the discreet packaging: it comes in a basic fedex envelope, appearing like any other package. This was extremely helpful as my neighbor accidentally wound up with my package, and I didn’t have to worry if he knew what was inside. Though when you shake it, it does sound like pills, but it can be any of the thousands of other medication on the market. The package included all medication necessary for the procedure, along with a pamphlet full of detailed instructions (both pictures and text) plus answers to common FAQs. I’d highly recommend inserting the pills vaginally to reduce nausea and discomfort; I personally dreaded the idea of dissolving pills in my mouth. The kit purchase comes with access to a messaging portal, where you can get in touch with telehealthcare providers. It’s a reassuring feature to have, especially if you have to go through this alone. I highly recommend this service, as its helped both me and a friend through the same situation. It helps that it costs so much less than going in person.
